1-on-1 Spiritual Companionship: A Space to Be

​Are you searching for a nourishing environment in which to explore and deepen your spiritual journey, free from judgement or pressure to believe or be a certain way? Spiritual direction, also called spiritual companioning, hashpa'ah, anam cara, or spiritual friendship, may be what you are looking for.

Contrary to how it sounds, spiritual directors do not direct you or give advice. Rather, we provide a space for you to deeply listen to your own Director - God as you understand God - your Higher Power, Higher Self, Inner Wisdom, or any other way you understand this.

My role as the spiritual director or companion is to create and guard a sacred, hospitable space where you can safely nurture your own inner stillness. Here, you are invited to simply be.

What to Expect

Spiritual companioning sessions usually run for about an hour fortnightly or monthly, and you are in charge of what we talk about. My role is not to advise or direct, but to listen attentively, witness your story with compassion, and help you notice the movement of Spirit, or Life, in your own experience.

We may sit in silence, talk, or, if you feel called, we might use other modalities to explore your inner world, such as:

• Cards, pictures or objects

• Art materials

• Movement

After the first two-three sessions, we will revisit to see if the partnership is still working. You can change spiritual directors or cease direction any time you wish without having to explain why.

This Space is For You If You Are:

• Deconstructing or transitioning in your faith journey, or feeling stuck or disconnected.

• Wanting to deepen in a sense of awe, curiosity, and joy about nature or the universe.

• In a 12-Step program and want a dedicated space to deepen your understanding of a Higher Power.

• Seeking to deepen your connection to the Divine, Spirit, or your own inner wisdom.

• Longing for a non-judgmental companion to witness your spiritual journey.

• Simply craving a moment of stillness and true rest for your soul.

Cost

I operate on a pay what you want basis with a minimum fee of $70 per session and a maximum fee of $170. If you wish to pay more, you will be helping to subsidise those whose financial means do not allow them to do so, by contributing a little extra to my overheads on their behalf - thank you! 

If $70 is still too much for you, please ask me about it and we can discuss options, as I do not want anyone to miss out due to financial stress.
